Icona Vulcano: A Handcrafted Powerhouse in the London Morgan Showroom

The ethos of handcrafted, exceptional design is one that flows throughout every movement and every decision within the London Morgan showroom. Morgan Motors are well known for exquisite craftsmanship and the driving experience that it allows, so the recent emergence of a handcrafted, one-of-a-kind titanium supercar was not something we could (or wanted to) ignore.

Meet the Icona Vulcano: The Beauty and the Beast

From the enigmatic minds of the designers at Icona comes the Icona Vulcano – the world’s first titanium car. Power and beauty are elegantly balanced with a striking blend of sweet lines and strong edges, creating an undulation of body that is truly arresting. Wheeled into our showroom just days ago, on 28th September 2016 we will be eagerly flinging open our doors for people to come and stand in wonder before this remarkable piece of Italian craftsmanship.

Inspired by the ‘Blackbird’, the world’s fastest plane, the Vulcano is an exceptional example of truly intelligent design, of tradition meeting exquisitely with technology. As all now know, it is this marriage that is at the heart of London Morgan, just as we discussed recently in our meditation on technology.

The specifications for the Icona Vulcano are as extraordinary as the visual design. The power-to-weight ratio is a staggering 2.38 kilograms per HP, leading to a top speed exceeding 355 km/h, 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, and 0 to 200 km/h in 8.6 seconds. After driving this delightful machine, it takes longer than that just for your trembling legs to lift you out of the chair.

Only one titanium bodied Vulcano has been or will ever be made. That Vulcano is currently residing in the halls of our very own Kensington Mews. Come and see the exceptional design innovation yourself, and you can even walk, or drive, away with it for the meagre price of two and a half million euros.
