London Craft Week is an exceptional five days of celebrating truly special craftsmanship within our spectacular capital city. For London Craft Week, both Struthers London and Method Studio will be joining us at 3 Astwood Mews from 3rd to 7th May. London Morgan are delighted to be involved this year, with one of our showrooms becoming a temporary home to these two exquisite companies, both of whom meticulously create bespoke pieces within their workshops.
The outstanding watchmakers, Struthers London, are one of two companies that you will be able to come and see our Mews in South Kensington. The husband and wife team specialise in offering the most bespoke watchmaking journey to those seeking a truly unique timepiece from a British watchmaker. Showcasing everything from hand rendered concept illustrations to beautifully finished timepieces, we’re excited to say that Struthers London will also be exhibiting the prototype of their very first in-house movement. Every piece is exactingly tailored to the wants of the client, creating truly individual pieces for clients worldwide; come and see how this level of expertise in design and craft are executed, the exhibition is open to all but personal appointments can also be arranged by contacted the respective studios in advance.
Method Studio is a creative studio and workshop that inhabits the worlds of design, experience and artisan craft. Architects of objects, if you like. The studio is run by the husband and wife team of cabinetmaker Callum Robinson and architect Marisa Giannasi from a lovingly restored 70 year old sawmill in the forest, near Edinburgh. The team treasures the opportunity to tell their own stories, and those of their client’s, through design and craft – carefully layering innovative, thoughtful and playful details with the finest materials and the unmistakable mark of the maker’s hand, to create unique furniture akin to sculptural artworks in hardwood, metal and leather.
Thursday 4th May will also see the Struthers and Method Studio in conversation with Melanie Grant, Luxury Editor of The Economist 1843, to discuss the bespoke creative process that both companies undertake, reservations for which can be booked on the London Craft Week website.
Visit our stunning showroom in Astwood Mews to catch a glimpse into the working processes of both of these exceptional craft-teams. We will be open from 10:00 until 17:00, and booking is essential for the talk on the 4th May and to see Struthers London.
We look forward to seeing all who visit London Crafts Week to share in this truly special homage to great British craft and design.
