London Morgan at the Geneva Motor Show 2018

2017 being the most successful year in Morgan Motor Company history, the buzz around the Morgan stand at the Geneva Motor Show 2018 was truly electric. With promises of new car unveilings, a swarm of fans and press hovered around us to grab a peak at the latest designs and releases.

Many exciting announcements have punctuated the beginning of 2018 for London Morgan, so it was a true thrill to finally be able to showcase our new cars in all of their glory. Both the Aero GT and the Plus 8 50th Anniversary Edition stole the show.

“Plucky British underdog Morgan will be bringing a brand new toy to Geneva. As well as a 50th anniversary special edition version of the Plus 8, which is losing its BMW V8 engine, there’s a race-inspired model called the Aero GT. Morgan describes this as a “gloves off” variant of the Aero 8, which is coming to the end of its life. Only eight of these machines will be made.”

The only thing taming the excitement being the realisation that all 8 editions of this Aero GT have already been bought by Morgan fans.

“The Aero GT sends the model line out on a high, with lots of racecar inspiration. Check out the diffuser at the back and the vented wheel arches; this is a Morgan channelling some actual aerodynamics.”

“Special touches of the Plus 8 50th Anniversary Edition include a blue finish said to be reminiscent of the color used on Morgan’s first Plus 8 (British racing green is offered as an alternative). The car also features yellow accents on the grille, engine cover and rear towing eyes.”

The Aero GT is not a car easily ignored, and held its own against the Bentleys’, Ferraris’ and Porches’ in the Halls. Gleaming proud, the Aero GT drew the eye of all around us, proving it is the show stopping car that has made it so sought after by collectors.

“Unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the GT is the company’s most extreme road-going model to date. Inspired by the GT3 model that raced at Le Mans in 2002 and 2004, the Aero GT is being built in just eight units, and the first car just rolled off the assembly line.”

Of course, no Geneva Motor Show would be complete without Morgan’s range of classic cars, proudly upholding the great Morgan heritage. Our selection included roadsters and 3 wheelers in a variety of iconic Morgan paintwork.
