A Special Sneak Peek at the Morgan Plus 8 50th Anniversary Edition

“Morgan’s crowning vehicle for fifty years.” – Jon Wells, Head of Design at Morgan Motor Company

Following the announcement of the Morgan Plus 8 50th anniversary edition, the motoring world has been poised in anticipation for any glimpse of this sure-to-be-striking new edition of a much-loved car. Well, wait no longer.

Anyone who has followed the Morgan Motor Company journey may recognise the blue lacquered paint finish as being a tribute to the original Plus 8 production model – known then as the MMC11, conceived by Peter Morgan in 1968.

Offsetting this luxurious blue are accents of yellow, hand-painted to compliment the car’s iconic features such as the front grill, and to accentuate the curvature of the Morgan Plus 8 50th anniversary edition along the bonnet and on the rear towing eyes.

“This 50th Anniversary Edition is a fitting illustration of the Plus 8’s beauty and finesse.” – Steve Morris, Managing Director of Morgan Motor Company

With just 50 of these special-edition models being created, demand expected from both collectors and driving purists for this blue piece of Morgan history is already raising as many eyebrows as the V8 engine.

“The Morgan Plus 8 continues to pioneer new technology within the classic Morgan bloodline. When combined with an uncompromising attention to craftsmanship, luxury and material choice, there is no more desirable Gentleman racer.” – Jon Wells, Head of Design at Morgan Motor Company

The phenomenal success of the Plus 8, with over 6000 vehicles built to order from Pickersleigh Road, will be acknowledged by the Morgan Plus 8 50th anniversary edition, which may perhaps mark a new chapter in the Morgan Motor journey?
